¼ tbsp. Italian seasoning
1/3 cup tomato base
¼ cup water
1 (12inch) prebaked refrigerated pizza crust (Bololi, Mamma Mary’s)
1 cup (4oz.) shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
1 ½ cup diced green, red, and yellow bell peppers (about 3 small peppers)
½ onion (chopped)
1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C)
2. Combine the seasonings, tomato paste, and water into a bowl, and stir well. Spread over the surface of the pizza crust (keep a border of ½ inch around the edge if you like). Top evenly with cheese. Add the chopped pieces of bell pepper and onion over the top.
3. Place the pizza into the oven and allow to cook for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and melted. Remove from the over when done and cut into 12 sliced servings.
Tip: Bell Peppers come in many colors that all have a variety of sweet and spicy flavors. There are Red, Yellow, Green, Orange, Brown, and Purple. Each color also determines the level of ripeness. Many peppers that are green are the variety that are picked before they are completely ripe so the flavor is very distinct. Allowed to ripen further, a bell pepper will be more attractive as well as flavor difference.
